The Infectious Disease Evolution Across Scales RCN seeks applicants for research exchanges and workshopssporozoites

The NSF-funded Research Coordination Network (RCN) focusing on infectious disease evolution is excited to fund several research exchanges as well as annual workshops. The RCN is focused on integrating new theoretical and empirical tools for the study of infectious diseases across scales of biological organization, with the goal of bridging the existing knowledge gap in this field. Network activities will build collaborations among microbiologists, immunologists, epidemiologists and evolutionary biologists via both workshops and research exchanges. If you are interested in applying to either visit our website: http://ideas.princeton.edu/

Research exchanges are short-term (<3 week) exchanges allowing researchers the opportunity to spend time working intensively away from their home institutions, within a group with complimentary expertise to pursue RCN goals. Awards will be preferentially given to PhD students and postdoctoral research associates, however all applications are welcome. Travel and subsistence will be covered for awarded exchanges.  Visit our website to apply: http://ideas.princeton.edu/

Application deadlines: 15 March, June, September and December 2015-2019

We also offer annual 3-day workshops, which provide RCN members and collaborators an opportunity to bring together relevant datasets, mathematical models and/or multi-scale statistical methods to frame and answer the question at hand.  Following presentations, participants work in small groups to refine the theory and statistical analyses and to design the next set of experiments required. At each workshop data from at least 2 infectious diseases or experimental protocols is analyzed, with daily discussion of the similarities and difference between datasets and methodologies. Our goal is for each workshop to generate new analytical results in real time. For information on the topics of specific workshops please visit
