In its five years of publication, Evolutionary Applications has rapidly established itself as a top tier journal.  The journal publishes papers that use evolutionary concepts and methods to address questions of applied importance.

Evolutionary Applications recognizes the importance of maximizing the visibility and accessibility of published research and thus beginning in 2012 has switched to an author-pays open access model.  All articles are now freely accessible on the journal website: www.evolutionaryapplications.org.  An editorial about the conversion to open access is available here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1752-4571.2012.00253.x/abstract

These medical-related articles are now available on Early View, and watch for a medicine-themed special issue coming out late 2012.

  • Escobar-Páramo et al. Evolutionary dynamics of separate and combined exposure of Pseudomonas fluorescens SBW25 to antibiotics and bacteriophage
  • Zhang and Buckling. Phages limit the evolution of bacterial antibiotic resistance in experimental microcosms
  • Thomas et al. Can we understand modern humans without considering pathogens?
  • Koella et al. Blocking the evolution of insecticide-resistance malaria vectors with a microsporidian

We look forward to publishing your best work,
-Evolutionary Applications editorial team
